Due to the events of the past few days, I realized that a good leader should be able to withstand negative feedback from his members. He should be sure of himself enough that he puts the welfare of the group (not just the majority) on top of his image and personal gains. He should not be afraid to correct the mistakes of members in a tactful manner and make them repeat a certain task a million times until they get it right even if he becomes unpopular in their eyes.
But then again, May 2013 national elections is in the air and all I see are politicians kissing the ass of the masses when I turn on the television. It’s unsettling for me to see senators wearing superhero costumes or governors and other officials dancing Gangnam Style just to earn their coveted places in public office. Just like what Andre Agassi said in his Canon advertisement, “Image is everything“.
