The things you own end up owning you. -Tyler Durden (Fight Club)
Ever since the start of September, I’ve been hearing Christmas songs everywhere. And though the real essence of the holiday lies in Christ, the word incarnate (and in giving more than receiving), I am still a human being with material wants dictated by this sometimes evil world. Please allow me to indulge in this post. Besides, I like to believe that compared with some people I know, I am not materialistic. Nah, I’m just being defensive.
No, really. I seldom buy things (indulging in food is not included) that my mother almost always says yes when I have a request (except with books and especially with clothes). Anyway, I know I could live without all that are listed below but hypocrisy aside, acquiring them would make me happy (albeit temporarily).
1. Vibram 5-Fingers
I have wanted one ever since Kirk said it was as good as walking barefoot because I love walking barefoot but hate all sorts of dirt that accumulate on my feet.
2. Western Digital My Passport External Hard Drive
Because I have to admit that I give importance to my files more than what I;m supposed to.
3. The North Face Backpack
This would serve as both a reminder and an inspiration on my backpacking dream.
4. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
Got interested in Shakespeare after I watched Coriolanus by Ralph Fiennes and I want to read the printed version because his works need some sort of discernment.
5. Covergirl LashBlast Fusion mascara
The best Mascara I’ve tried.
6. How to Walk in High Heels + A Year in High Heels by Camilla Morton
I;d like to embrace my femininity more and I prefer to achieve that goal by reading books than, let’s say, dressing up.
7. Van Gogh’s Starry Night Jigsaw Puzzle
4 words: bucket list, favorite painting
8. Naruto Complete DVD set
3 words: bucket list, childhood
9. Ray Ban Aviator
Because my father’s is already damaged and Ray Ban is, in Barney’s words, legendary.
10. Ray Ban Wayfarer
I hate the glare of the sun when I’m commuting and trying to sleep at the same time.
11. Olympus TG 820
Shock resist. Water proof. Dust proof. Tough!
12. BBC One’s Sherlock Season 1 and 2 DVD
I love Benedict Cumberbatch and everything else about the show. And I want to watch behind the scenes and interviews and all the special perks you get when you buy the DVD!
For me, Comfort > Style
14. Any Decent Deck of Cards
Because I’m tired of buying ordinary decks that wear off after a couple of games. And I love playing cards.
15. Ancient Gear Golem original Yu Gi Oh card
I don’t play Yu Gi Oh anymore but Ancient Gear Golem is still my favorite card.
16. Domain name (rovingrani.com) + Space Upgrade + Site Redirect at WordPress’ Store
I take blogging pretty seriously. I figured it;s like the diary I was too lazy to write.
17. Victorinox Swiss Army Knife
Wanted one ever since I was a kid. Residual from my tomboy years.
18. Shu Uemura eyelash curler
The internet says it’s the best one out there. My eyelashes are pointed downwards Mascara without eyelash curler is a futile effort.
19. Doc Martens boots
Just because. And I hear they last a reaaaaally long time.
And last but definitely not the least…
20. Body pillow!!!
Or what I fondly call “poochin” or “dantay”. I like hugging and I want something really really really soft thinking about it would be enough to make me smile and/or sleepy. :3
